WoL is a physical tank, while agrias is capable of both physical and magic tank due to having spr and def in ability board. But most people use her as a magic tank.
But doesn't WoL have higher def and spr in the ability board? Furthermore, he boasts an increased % for HP as well as a somewhat decent self-heal. Not to mention his "Brave Presence" which boosts his DEF/SPR and taunts, his "Invincible Shield" which reduces physical dmg for 3 turns, as well as both his Support Abilities which boosts his Max HP/DEF and DEF/SPR/Debuff Resist.
<cont.> In all sense, isn't he very much a tank (all-rounder) for both Physical and Magic? He also somewhat compensates for his poor movement with "Shift Attack". Meanwhile, Agrias seems more like a sub-tank/semi-damage dealer to me in comparison?
<cont.> p.s. Never mind. I found what might have caused people to treat her as a "Magic Tank". Her "Holy Guard Protection" and "Talisman", which are AOE skills; while WoL's "Invincible Shield" and other skills are ST skills. Still this would at the very most just classify her as buffer/sub-tank rather than a magic tank. I wouldn't go as far as to call her a tank at all since she doesn't taunt.
Overall, WoL has higher HP/DEF/SPR capabilites, and boosts a slightly lower ATK factored in from his Master Ability. Agrias on the other hand, has a Master Ability that reduces ST damage taken, which may be useless since she doesn't have a taunt in her main job.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but how auto battles works (PvP, GvG etc) is that enemies tends to go after weaker enemies first (lower HP/DEF/SPR), so her Master Ability may not be as effective if she doesn't have a taunt?
If you take a look at her skill, she is kinda focused on inflicting status effect.
With only that we know that she can't be compared to full time tank such as WoL
Yes. So the 🔥ed page editor shouldn't really put her as a "magic tank" in the overview. She's no more than a status inflicter; not a tank in any way. It's 🔥ed how people keep classifying units as "potential tanks" when the units just have a little Def/Spr in their build.
She can take more hit than average unit, but no better than a tank. Her main feature is the status ailments, no matter how you see it and thats why her tanking aspect is kinda lacking compared to tanks.
By the way, she does work well together with both Mediena and Gilgamesh
Actually, she has a fair amount if SPR, plus taunting blade in her sub and an innate 20% resistance to mag damage. Probably why people call her a magic tank.
