yeah they could have done better but ill still go for her.

Actually in the original game she's closer to a magic sword user than her Dissidia remake of her as a mage.

Also if you want a fire mage you already have c.glassy and s.kitone so it makes sense that they add a fire magic sword user.

Eh, her physical attacks were okay but she was definitely mostly a mage. She had the second highest magic stat in the game and naturally learned high-tier spells like Arise, Holy, and Ultima (and is one of the few characters who naturally learned magic at all in FF6). She never combined her magic and sword attacks together like a mystic knight would either.

The way you decided to build her was as a mage but her actual character uses a sword. It would be weirder to have her carry around a sword but never use it.
