Traditionally bravery and faith represent one's physical and magical abilities.
Bravery affects physical damage dealt and the activation of "physical" type reaction abilities (ie: counter or evasion)
Bravery does NOT affect incoming damage.
Faith affects magic damage and healing.
A character with high faith will do more damage/healing with spells.
But unlike bravery, faith also affects incoming magic. A character with high with will take more damage from / more healing from spells than a character with low faith.
Bravery and faith are mostly ideas - i don't recall bravery nor faith being gamebreaking in WOTL, it's more of a min/maxer thing.
That being said, conventional wisdom is: fighters should have high bravery
Mages should have high faith.
There are some exceptions. In WOTL the monk's "chakra" ability is considered physical, and therefore the healing is not affected by faith. I wouldn't be surprised it such exceptions existed in wotv as well.
