Varush is a magic samurai that plays like a bruiser. Primarily using Slash attacks that scale off of MAG while also having some SPR to deal with other mages. Since he's a MAG-based unit, he's able to also deal high magic damage or give high heals through his sub-job options.
His main job, "Bladesoul", is like an upgraded (or modernized) version of Rune Knight's job since it's also melee ranged attacks with MAG scaling, has SPR piercing rate passive, and HP draining attack. Compared to Rune Knight, Bladesoul has a better offensive buff since it lasts for 3 turns, and comes with more defensive options, mainly to go against other magic damage dealers. This tankyness will help Varush survive better so that he can recover lost HP through regen or Spirit Stealer.
His damage isn't comparable to other focused damage dealers, but his advantage is in attrition. The tankyness + damage absorption attack works well together, and he has a high chance of inflicting Paralyze through his burst. Going with White Mage sub job even lets him heal others and fully revive a unit, while going with Kotodama Wielder sub job will give him some magic attacks so that he can use 2 damage types.
Significantly lowers reaction ability activation rate of targets within range for 3 turns, then deals high-accuracy Dmg (M) based on caster's MAG stat.
I have him and he is underestimated. He lacks physical tankness so it is usually a tossup to focus on mag equipment and use steel passive or focus def and with preemptive strike.
He is literally a WoW shaman without windfury. He is useful in all game aspects.
Though he can hit has as hell, he does have major set backs.
His Kotodama skills are useless in PvP because he does not active them fast enough, but his healing subclass outshines his potential.
His life drain skill not worth the troubles. At max its 33% drainage and highest damage I've done been 9k but he avgs around 5k, and the skill needs alot of ap buildup.
He has small Hp pool and does not evade much.
He does not have large aoe skills like werewolf Leela, or range, but he does have aoes. He lacks crowd control and damage over time skills.
His role is in the background healing and finishing off than an opener.
I feel like this guy is going to be exactly like Howlett, where no one pull for him despite his greats stats because people prioritize their visiore to limited units.
