It's possible to go through and play the game with just SR and some MR unit?

In short term, no. Long term yes. Your best units long term will always be the ones you spend the time awakening, limit breaking, and filling out their ability board. Short term UR and MR are better when all your units haven’t had much work done because they have higher stats

Well, it's a bit hard to go through only with SRs. SRs are very weak compared to MRs and URs regarding to stats.
