All of the Malboros can use Smelly Breath (inflict any/all status ailments), weak to magic, and small negative resistance to Ice element. After defeating some of the Malboros, up to 3 Great Malboros will spawn in the center area on the other side.
Getting hit with even 1 Smelly Breath can be quite fatal since it can even turn your units to a toad or paralyze. It will help if you have a tank with increased hate and put them on slot 2 or 3 since it's closer to the other side. Lowering your tank's faith, or using the event reward equipment, Emblem of Devouring, may help with clearing.
Mediena is definitely the unit of choice for the fight. Otherwise, most mages with good range and AoE works quite well here.
