Tidus is a free character obtainable during the FFX collab event. He is a water damage dealer that favors more towards critical rate and damage, but also comes with powerful buffs, debuffing attacks, and the ability to set up a 3 hit chain from his limit burst, making him quite the team player.
His main highlight is the new and exclusive job, Abes' Star Player, which comes with the incredibly useful skill Hastega, and a nice ranged buff Cheer(Tidus). While his offensive skills have lower multiplier compared to top tier damage dealers, he does have pretty good crit rate, and most of them have additional effects ranging from debuffing his enemies, or self buffs. His limit burst is a little costly, but the 3 chains that he's able to set up can be a huge deal when combined with his AGI increase skills and AGI decrease attacks.
His other subjobs adds some more variety to his kit. Paladin subjob makes him a viable tank since it comes with the usual useful tank skills (Taunting Blade, Sentinel, Blade Bash) (no guts), and the counter ability Paladin Guard. Samurai subjob helps increase crit rate if you don't have his TMR, and other situational skills, Kongou being his highest damage dealing skill.
Upgrading him to EX gives him some nice bonuses like making Critical Pass into a guaranteed crit ability, increase base damage of Quick Hit, increase his damage cap by up to 2,000, and the main prize being the new skill Jecht Shot for some high DEF reduction. Definitely worth considering if you use him a lot in your teams.
