Notice: This tier list also includes units on JP server and takes their EX 120 abilities into consideration. Units are not sorted from best to worst.

Missing units, wrong ratings, or any input can be given in the comments.

SS: Gamechangers / Meta Defining.
S: Top tier.
A: Good outside of mono teams and has useful buff/debuffs to help the party.
B: Situational.
C/D: Outdated / Just No.

What does the Cost stat mean for units? Thancred is 100 while Sterne is 80

It doesnt matter now but probably will for future dungeons and tower events.

Maybe he is an A because he is a limited character and his shards are therefore limited. They mentioned it at the beginning that they consider the shard availability

He is god tier. But you need to save now and alot of visiore to be able to exploit him to his full potential. It's very worth imo since JP mentions he will be able to solo carry you through 90% of PVE stuff. Combine that with free and easy to upgrade MR units like mont, yshtola, and other future MR its going to be easy to make a top tier squad around Orlandu.

i wonder , why my tranched so weak ? for comparison : my mont leonis atk is 203 (LV.32) meanwhile tranched atk is 155 (LV. 48) i have an ifrit for esper and card for tranched tho , any explanation ?

equipments and job level and ability unlocked. Thanchred should outscale mont easily if you just compare their base stats (no ability upgrade, equipment, visions, esper, job level 1)

Why aren't their and top tier Spellblade main job units . Only one is SR sigh.

Stern is glasscannon,his dmg is a nonsense for melee. make sure you have good back up units for him.

rairyuu actually use for farming, stern and rairyuu has different role. but has same element i recommend focus what you really need.

How many shards are needed to use a UR character? I see where to get them from and how many are needed for the first limit break but not how many I need to be able to use them. Thx in advance

Shard is used only to perform limit breaks on UR units. You can't unlock them by collecting shard.

Why you put thancred at S? Since he doesnt have limit break, and his stats quite lower than sterne (i build both and compare their stats) is there any special skill or am i missing something?

This medals you said, is the goetia you got in the events quest? Is there any other way to get his shard after the events end?
